Just A Close Call "This is by far the best part of the trip!" Tricia yelled to her friend from the side of the pool. "It might be the best, but you better watch out!" Marissa yelled back to her, as Matt came up behind her. She turned, but Matt had already begun to grab her by her ankles, and proceeded to hang her upside down, dangling above the pool. "Matt!" she cried just before he let her go. As she surfaced and looked for him, she noticed Matt was being yelled at by who everyone assumed was his girlfriend, Cora. He looked her way for a second and smiled at her, then quickly looked back to Cora. Tricia laughed to herself and swam off. Back in Tricia and Marissa’s hotel room, Tricia as showering while Marissa watched TV. Their hotel room door was open, but Tricia had the bathroom door shut. Quite unexpectedly, Matt came into the room, shutting the hotel door. "Get out of here!" Marissa hissed, trying to push him out of the room. "Look, if you don’t want me in here, can I just hang out in your closet? I need a place to keep away from Cora." "No." Marissa said flatly. "Under the bed?" he asked, looking around the room, starting to get desperate. "No!" Marissa screamed, trying to open the door, though Matt was in her way. "The bathroom then?" "Definitely not!" "What’s going on out here?" Tricia asked, coming to stand in the bathroom door in just a towel. "Yes, the bathroom it is." Matt said, ducking into the bathroom, pulling Tricia with him, and shutting the door. "Excuse me Matt, but I’m in the middle of trying to shower." Tricia said, sitting on the edge of the tub. "Excuse me Tricia, but I’m in the middle of hiding from Cora." He replied quickly, sitting on the bathroom sink across from her. "But continue on with your business." "Oh you good for nothing cheater!" "Excuse me?" he asked, looking sincerely perplexed. "Here you sit locked in a bathroom with me in nothing but a towel, while you hide from your girlfriend!" Tricia said angrily, standing up. "Wait, you mean, you think Cora is my girlfriend?" he asked her, standing as well, so the two were facing each other. "Yes, everyone does." she replied somberly. "Well, what if we aren’t?" Matt said coyly, leaning in to kiss Tricia. Tricia ducked away from the kiss, and went for the door. She opened it to find Marissa’s confused face. Marissa remained silent as Matt came up behind Tricia to re-shut the door. "One minute please Marissa." He said as he shut the door. "What was that about?" he asked, seeming almost angry once the door was shut. "Someone seems just a tad conceded." She snapped, glaring up at him. "No, I’m not. I overheard you telling Marissa how amazing you think I am." "Then did you miss Cora telling you to your face how amazing you are? She’s my friend, and I won’t go behind her back like this. You’ve got to leave." She said with meaning. Tricia pushed past him, and opened the door, and he walked out of the bathroom. "Are you sure you want to do this? Turn me out like this?" Matt asked, his eyes still sparkling. "Get the hell out of here." Marissa said loudly, opening the hotel room door. He nodded and left in silence. Marissa closed the door behind him and turned to her friend. "Are you alright? Marissa asked Tricia who was still standing in the bathroom door. "Yeah, just fine." She replied with a smile. "Just a close call." |
